Shipping Policy
At Iron Roots, we ship with care, intention, and respect for the health of every plant we send out. Our goal is to keep shipping straightforward, protect plant quality in transit, and communicate clearly about what is and is not covered.
Shipping Options
Iron Roots currently offers two shipping options at checkout:
Standard Ground
2-Day Shipping
Customers are free to choose the shipping method that best fits their budget and risk tolerance.
Processing & Shipping Schedule
Orders are processed in the order they are received. Live plants are shipped on a limited weekly schedule to reduce unnecessary transit stress and the risk of weekend delays.
If weather, holidays, transit conditions, or order volume create a situation where shipment should be delayed, Iron Roots reserves the right to hold an order until conditions are safer for the plant.
When an order is being held, we will make a reasonable effort to contact the customer and let them know.
Live Arrival Guarantee
Iron Roots offers a Live Arrival Guarantee only on qualifying orders.
From October through March, an order must include both of the following to qualify for the Live Arrival Guarantee:
2-Day Shipping
Winter Shipping Insurance
Winter Shipping Insurance includes extra insulation and a heat pack.
If either 2-Day Shipping or Winter Shipping Insurance is not included during the October through March period, the order does not qualify for the Live Arrival Guarantee.
Orders placed with Standard Ground are shipped at the customer’s discretion and risk and are not covered by the Live Arrival Guarantee.
Outside of October through March, Iron Roots may still hold an order if conditions create an unreasonable risk to plant health.
Winter Shipping Insurance
Winter Shipping Insurance is available during the colder months, defined as October through March.
This add-on includes extra insulation and a heat pack to help protect live plants in transit.
Winter Shipping Insurance does not create a Live Arrival Guarantee on its own. During October through March, both 2-Day Shipping and Winter Shipping Insurance must be selected for the guarantee to apply.
Customer Shipping Choice
We offer Standard Ground year-round so customers can choose the shipping option that works best for them.
If a customer chooses a slower shipping method, they are accepting the additional transit risk that may come with that choice.
Iron Roots may review destination weather before shipping when possible, but the final selection of shipping speed and seasonal protection remains the customer’s responsibility.
Weather Holds & Fulfillment Discretion
Iron Roots reserves the right to delay shipment when conditions are likely to create an unreasonable risk to plant health, even if a customer selects a shipping option that would otherwise move forward.
This is done to reduce preventable loss, confusion, and avoidable fulfillment issues.
When possible, we will reach out before shipment to notify the customer that an order is being held.
Delivery Issues
If a qualifying order arrives with a live arrival issue, customers must contact Iron Roots within 24 hours of delivery and provide clear photos of the plant and packaging.
Claims submitted outside that window may not be eligible for review.
Final Note
Shipping charges cover transit and packaging costs. They do not guarantee plant performance after delivery, acclimation success, or long-term care outcomes in the customer’s environment.
Iron Roots stands behind what we offer, communicates clearly, and ships with care. We also expect customers to choose their shipping method and seasonal protections with intention.
